Top of the field With Unlimited funding A dream job, so where is the catch? Pledge of allegiance? Or merely convenience? Whatever, survival is the goal When we signed our future away I was dying There’s no denying The prospect of a life So I threw all my hopes in the tank For the promise of another round… Well, I guess, there’s nothing I can do I couldn’t care for fires in the room Ended trapped inside, an artificial womb A so called life, so once again the joke’s on me, nothing’s free Once we were normal At least on the outside Together, busy playing god Still unaware of the Madness to come with The monster, waiting inside Then I saw the truth in your eyes But it was too late to realize Well, I guess, there’s nothing I can do I couldn’t care for fires in the room Ended trapped inside, an artificial womb A so called life, so once again the joke’s on me, I’ve got to flee Brought as an equal, a team of mad scientists No-one to go back to, nothing to leave behind Working my ass off as I hadn’t noticed that I was the experiment, blinded by my lack of choice Shame on me! But, I guess, there’s something I should do Well, I guess, there’s nothing I can do I couldn’t care for fires in the room Ended trapped inside, an artificial womb A so called life, so once again the joke’s on me, yeah But, I guess, there’s something I should do Who could’ve guessed that I would murder you Now I head outside, and leave the glass behind Hide out of sight, society’s not ready for our mutantkind Brought as an equal, a team of mad scientists No-one to go back to, nothing to leave behind Working my ass off as I hadn’t noticed that I was the experiment, blinded by my lack of choice Victim of science, ungrateful Alliance with Blood as my only flag, acting behind your back Instinct, denial, bionic reliance Escape from the lab, pray we don’t cross our paths getting out Woah, getting out of here! So long! Never will you ever catch me...

about

Oh God... They're Free! is a game made by Bob Morate and me for Ludum Dare 33 back in 2015. You can play it here (good luck with the boss): bobmorate.itch.io/oh-god-theyre-free

The first four tracks are the ones I made during the gamejam. It was the first time I've written music on guitar and bass, and I had a blast! I was very happy with the outcome, especially since I had to code too, and that left me with just 8h for all audio work.

For this release I wanted to make an alternative chiptune soundtrack (tracks 5-8), but I felt it wasn't enough, so I went the extra mile.

Victim of Science expands the game's theme with an intentionally vague narrative around its events. An electronic rock song crafted from all four original tracks of the soundtrack, adds just what was missing in this EP.
